My love affair with flowers began in childhood, in my grandmothers’ gardens in Rhode Island. One grandmother loved dahlias, and they co-existed contentedly with my grandfather’s vegetables. My other grandmother had peonies. How could those ever possibly go unnoticed?
Twenty years went by before I experienced the joy of gardening myself, although limited to terra-cotta pots on my terrace in Barcelona. Then fourteen more years before moving to Windsor, England and rediscovering spring bulbs and the flowers of those summers in Rhode Island… It was in the UK that I was truly smitten again by flowers.
As serendipity would have it, here I am, back in New England, and now completely addicted, a floral designer trained in both Europe and the U.S. What a privilege to have both these perspectives!
